Strategic Planning: Prioritize with purpose

Strategic planning is the combination of prioritization and vision. It involves defining an organization’s core mission; gathering information about its current state; identifying a desired future state; and crafting an actionable plan to get there.

What we'll do:

  • Review your mission, purpose, and core values

  • Research the current state of your organization (surveys, interviews, community feedback, etc.)

  • Assess current strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats

  • Create a shared vision for where you're going

  • Identify the existing "tools in your toolbox"

  • Chart a year-by-year path to your desired future

    • Assign responsibility

    • Identify key performance indicators

    • Craft SMART goals (specific, measurable, actionable, reasonable, time-sensitive)

What we'll need: Interviews with key executives, managers, and other leaders in your organization, some auditing of how time is currently spent and resources are allotted, and some time set aside for a group workshop to plan together.

Sound scary? You don't have to have all these pieces in place. The goal here is to understand where you are (REALLY are) in relation to where you'd like to be, then make a plan to get there.

Need help finding the time? More participation is better, but we won't spend months interviewing everyone on your team. We'll work together to determine what makes the most sense for you. Even a daylong session can yield clarity and insights that will impact you for years to come. Just ask our other clients.
